Public Health Emergency Preparedness focuses on planning coordination and program development that protects the health of Baker County’s citizens and residents from the effects of both man-made and naturally occurring events. Efforts range from special needs shelter planning to providing assistance to citizens that may require special care during tropical weather, to planning for mass distribution of medications to protect us from disease outbreaks.
We coordinate with local and regional partners in the development of response plans to provide the best possible means to ensure that our citizens are protected.
Special Needs Registry
Special needs shelters are for those with disabilities or who require medical care that exceeds basic first aid. Preregistration is important so emergency responders can ensure space is reserved for those with the greatest need.
