The Florida Department of Health (DOH) provides a variety of personal and population-based services aimed at health and wellness. There are several prevention and safety and wellness initiatives on the DOH prevention website.

In Baker County, Health Educators teach classes, attend health events, and design and distribute materials to improve health outcomes in the community. We also form community partnerships and seek to create policy and environmental changes throughout the county that will benefit the health of our residents.

We offer several ongoing health programs in the community that target individuals and groups of all ages:

  • Breastfeeding education and support from a Certified Lactation Consultant
  • Healthy Nutrition
  • Car Seat Safety Checks
  • Real Talk - Real Conversation. Real Situations.
  • Tobacco Education and Cessation
    NorthFloridaAHEC.org
    • Quitline 1-877-822-6669
    • 1-877-U-CAN-NOW
    • Tobacco Education Presentations

Healthiest Weight Florida

The DOH launched the Healthiest Weight Florida initiative in early 2013. Healthiest Weight Florida brings together state agencies, not-for-profit organizations, businesses, and entire communities to help Florida’s children and adults make consistent, informed choices about healthy eating and active living.
